About me...

My name is Daniela and I founded TutorTaxi. 

​

I am a trained foreign language correspondent (Cologne) and completed my high school diploma in Germany and thanks to a full scholarship from the Parliamentary Sponsorship Program in the USA (Indianapolis). I then studied graphic design in Germany and sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Carrara (Italy).

 

During my studies and the many trips I had the opportunity to learn how to teach languages. Since 2010 I have also been teaching German online via Skype, Zoom and Google Meet.

 

This way of teaching suits my lifestyle perfectly and is a lot of fun: It doesn't matter whether I'm in Germany, Italy or anywhere else in the world. 😉

 

I really appreciate the cultural exchange during the lessons because I learn a lot of interesting things from my students, their views, traditions and cultures.

 

Here are just two of many examples:

 

• A Chinese student wondered about my cat, which sometimes scurried through the picture. On the other hand, I was very surprised that his family kept a crocodile in the garden...

• A pregnant student from India told me about the tradition of a "welcome party" among women for the baby as soon as it starts to hear in the womb (from the seventh or eighth month, I don't remember exactly). The pregnant woman sits on a chair and moves her arms rhythmically while the other women dance around her and give a ding-to-sound concert with their glass bracelets. One bracelet after another is handed over to the pregnant woman while dancing.

 

My other passions include art, psychology, storytelling and playing with my child. I have to admit that I am fascinated by the possibilities that the Internet offers and the new technologies and I suffer a lot from the fact that there are only 24 hours in a day.

 

Not to be forgotten are of course my four-legged companions, whom I enjoy every day and who teach me a language without words.

I have been living in a small village in Italy north of Tuscany since 2022 and my daughter is now going to school.
